This seems to be guaranteed to happen so we always have to make sure that we unplug the power cord.

Flaw #1, the TV will randomly switch itself on in the middle of the night. This issue can be resolved, but what can' t be resolved is the flawed software. So unless you' re buying separate speakers, this isn' t a device to enjoy movies on. The sound quality is dreadful, my laptop has better speakers than this thing. There are a decent amount of inputs: 2 x HDMI, Component, VGA, DVI and Scart. We already own a Samsung 32' TV and we' re reasonably happy with it.The picture quality is good. My wife and I decided that we needed a TV for our bedroom and the Samsung T220HD seemed to fit the bill. But if you need a TV, best just to get a proper one. This is because the back of the monitor slopes and curves as part of the design (which you probably won't be able to see).As a monitor, the T220HD is solid, if flawed. In order to mount the monitor on a wall or bracket, you must first purchase an additional (proprietary) bracket which then attaches to a standard bracket. On a personal note, I hate how patronizing Samsung is with thir Touch of Color nonsense, insisting on the box and all the marketing material that they've turned their displays into works of "art." Another design problem is the way the monitor mounts to the wall. If it had been left a basic black, it could at least be unobtrusive, but as a red monitor it stands out from whatever decor you might have. I'm all for making tech more aesthetically pleasing, but the addition of red to the monitor's frame doesn't really add anything.

And it doesn't have the full resolution functionality of a true monitor, so you can't get the higher resolutions you normally would on true monitors of the same size. This monitor was made when Samsung kept adding a "Touch of Color" to all their displays. So it gets close to HDTV size and resolution, but never gets there. Again, fine for computer use, but TV signals have to be scaled down slightly, and you get letterboxing. The sound quality is pretty poor, so you'll need some external speakers (again, problematic for use as a TV).The monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050, which is ALMOST full HD. However, there is a bit of backlight bleed, and the monitor doesn't really perform well in rooms with lots of light (so a strike against it for use as a TV).

The range of color is more than sufficient, and it is nicely adjustable. Of course, when tech tries to be more than one thing, it often fails to be truly good at any of them.As a monitor, the T220HD works well. Basically I wanted a computer monitor with TV inputs, and the T220HD fits the bill nicely (1x DVI, 1x VGA, 2x HDMI, 1x component, antenna).

There are surprisingly few monitors out there that adequately work as both. I purchased the T220HD because I needed a computer monitor that would also function as a TV.
